Nothing Phone 2A Makes Pre-March 5 Debut at MWC 2024

The Nothing Phone 2A has made a belated appearance at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, showcasing its complete design while holding back on further details until a reveal event on March 5.

Debuting on the convention floor on Tuesday, the phone was accompanied by an unboxing video released on Nothing’s YouTube channel the following day.

The unboxing video sheds light on several design modifications compared to its predecessor, the Nothing Phone 2. These include the repositioning of the dual rear cameras to the center and the adoption of a plastic build, allowing for partial transparency on the phone’s sides.

Though the video doesn’t display the phone powered on, social media posts shared by Nothing’s X account exhibit the trademark Glyphs illuminating the top half surrounding the camera, while the bottom half features a swirling design incorporating the number two.

Beyond providing a glimpse of the Nothing Phone 2A’s aesthetics, the Mobile World Congress appearance primarily serves as a teaser for Nothing’s scheduled event on March 5th. In a prior teaser, Nothing hinted at the 2A phone running on a Mediatek processor instead of the Qualcomm chip used in previous models. While pricing details for the 2A remain undisclosed, the choice of plastic over metal for the phone’s construction suggests a potentially more affordable option compared to the $599 Nothing Phone 2.

If the Nothing Phone 2A indeed emerges as a budget-friendly flagship, it would align with similar endeavors by other manufacturers, such as the $500 OnePlus 12R, the $600 Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, and the $499 Google Pixel 7A.
